Another Tough Loss

Canada fell to China earlier today in the 5-8th classification round from Tenerife, Spain.

Canada started off the game with all cylinders firing, outscoring their opponents 48-34 at the half. The game was a tale of two halves, though, as China came out gunning in the second half and Canada fell flat. Canada was outscored in the second half 23-42, giving up their lead halfway through the fourth quarter and were unable to regain it back, ultimately falling to China 71-76.

Kia Nurse led the team in scoring with 18 points with Miranda adding 6 points in her 23 minutes of play.

With the loss, Canada will now face Nigeria for 7th place on the last day of competition. The game tips off at 11:30am local, 6:30am ET.

Lets hope Canada regroups after two tough games and finish off the tournament on a high note.
