Canada tumbled out of medal contention at the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup tonight; falling to host Spain by a score of 53-68.
The game was back and forth through three quarters with Canada fighting and down only by 3 points going into the final frame. Canada, unfortunately, was unable to find their offence in the last quarter, being held to only 3 points as Spain got hot and scored 21 points.
Kia Nurse and Shay Colley led the way for the team, with Miranda contributing 7 points in her 25 minutes on court.
With the loss, Canada falls short of their goal of making it to the medal rounds and will now play China tomorrow at 2pm local, 9am ET in the 5-8 place classification rounds.
