Regular Season Off and Running

The LFB regular season continued today as Basket Landes traveled north to La Roche-sur-Yon to take on Roche Vendée for Matchday #3. Their opponent were the LF2 (second division) champions last year and recently promoted to the first division for this season.

From the opening tip; BL did not look back as the team played a balanced, strong and complete 40 minutes and defeated their opponent 76-59.

Miranda played a very productive 29 minutes in the game, scoring a game high 20 points while having a blazing 90% field good percentage — she was actually shooting a perfect 10 for 10 from the floor until missing a jump shot from the corner of the key with less than 3 and a half minutes left in the game.

With the win, Basket Landes is now 2-1 in LFB regular season play, sitting in second place overall at this early juncture of the season.

The team returns home for their next game, starting their EuroCup campaign against Hungarian side Cegled on October 11th.

In other news, the draw for the Coupe de France/France Cup was recently announced, and Miranda will be returning to familiar grounds as BL will take on former LFB team and neighbour, Toulouse, in the Round of 16 at the end of the month on October 28.

Lastly, the website has been updated and set up for the new 2017-18 season — you can view complete schedules, stats and photos of Miranda throughout this season. We will continue to make regular updates throughout the season and keep you posted on Miranda and her team’s progress!

Fingers crossed that Miranda will be adding some content to the site shortly, too!
