The 2013 FIBA Americas Championships for Women from Xalapa, Mexico continued today as Canada (2-0) took on a scrappy Venezuela (1-1) side.

Similar to their previous matches, Canada came out strong from the get go, building an 18 point lead going into half time off of a balanced attack. Venezuela played hard thru the entire match, causing some misplays for their opponents. In the end, Canada soundly won the match 89-45, and remains undefeated in Group A play.
Miranda had a relatively quiet game, playing 18 minutes and scoring 2 points. Mir did, however, come up with quite a few assists and some big blocks–leading both teams with 3 blocks.
Roommate Kendel Ross had a big game, leading all scorers with 16 points.
Next up for Team Canada is an all important match against Cuba tomorrow at 4:15pm local time. Both teams enter this final preliminary round game undefeated (3-0), and the outcome of this match will determine the semi-final match-ups on Friday.
